About Us
Biomedical Data Hub (BDH) is a national platform, supported by the Singapore Ministry of Health through the National Medical Research Council (NMRC) Office, MOH Holdings Pte Ltd under the NMRC Strategic Datasets and Data-Sharing Infrastructure (SDDSI) Funding Initiative (MOH-001850) and hosted at A*STAR, the Agency for Science, Technology and Research.
We help curate, manage, and standardise Singapore's strategic biomedical data assets and support secure discovery, access and analysis to researchers and innovators.

For Data Users
Metadata Catalog: BDH accelerates research and innovation by making biomedical research data finable and accessible through its Metadata Catalog. Our infrastructure links users to Singapore's vibrant research ecosystem, including the national TRUST data platform.
Trusted Research Environment (TRE): The BDH TRE is specifically designed to pair compute with data, allowing researchers to utilize A*STAR's GPU infrastructure to support complex analysis, AI model training, and validation.
For Data Owners
Data Access: BDH opens new collaboration opportunities while strengthening data governance. Access requests are managed and approved by the data owner's Data Access Committee (DAC) or a central DAC.
Compliance: To ensure the highest levels of trust, BDH complies with international standards for cybersecurity (ISO 27001) and data governance (ISO 38505). We conduct frequent internal and external audits to ensure continuous compliance and operational excellence.

Our team brings together life scientists, bioinformaticians and data architects supported by specialists in cybersecurity and high-performance computing. We design the BDH with a deep understanding of what researchers actually need. We prioritise rigorous data harmonisation, FAIR principles and follow the Five Safes framework.
